Women in Music, BAME and Gender Fluidity

Every organisation has targets to increase the visibility and awareness of issues facing Women in Music, BAME and Gender Fluidity throughout the workplace and indeed with our artists, and members, Pride in Music is no different!

PiM has held regular social events throughout the year and we’d love to see a more diverse crowd come together as we look towards our partnership and calendar through 2020.

Nobody loves an extended Diversity Survey but we’ll keep it short and sweet, honest – and we hope to see you as part of our activities in the New Year! Submissions are of course completely anonymous.

LOUD & PROUD

Pride in Music is a non-profit charitable collective working to create a cross-industry network for the LGBTQ+ community, artists and allies working within British Music 🏳️‍🌈

Pride in Music aims to provide a support network to break down stereotypes, to work as an education service to employers and staff, as an entry point to the industry for underprivileged youth and to provide a peer mentoring, networking, and an industry wide social group to help those who may struggle with the anxieties and stigmas that generally arise with these topics. We also work with a number of up-and-coming and developing artists to showcase new music by those who may not normally be afforded that opportunity.

Last year we had the honour of opening the Mighty Hoopla Festival, Student Pride, and provided slots on the Trafalgar Square Stage at Pride in London 2019.

You can read more about our mission in-depth here, but Don’t forget to head to our Facebook Page to engage with our varied community, or follow us on Instagram here.

Unflopped: The Podcast

Unflopped is the fortnightly podcast that resurrects forgotten pop classics.

Join two pop know-it-alls and one bona fide musical genius as they dig deep into pop music history. In each episode Stuart and Sean choose a flop single that they think deserved to be a hit. Judge Joe offers his expert musical analysis, then, at the end of the show, delivers his ultimate verdict – one of the songs is declared officially Unflopped.

You can listen to the latest Unflopped Podcast right here on Pride in Music through the power of Spotify, or click through to listen to all episodes!

Pride Anthems 2019

Not quite ready to let go of the London and Brighton Pride season this year? Once again, a HUGE thank you to those who turned out and joined our first industry-wide pride march en-force.

To celebrate, you can stream our whopping 6 HOUR playlist on Spotify below!

Pride in London

Saturday marked our first ever industry-wide pride march, and we wanted to say a huge thank you to all of those who came to march with us in London, and those who supported us from afar – we couldn’t have done this without you.

Pride in Music originally came together to combat the presumption that the industry is naturally and by default a safe-space for the community as a whole, and to increase visibility for all of us alongside our cousins in broadcast, film & entertainment. It was incredible to see so many people come together – from Universal, Sony, Warners, CAA, MTV, AIM and First Access, alongside our PR, songwriter, producer and musician friends – all in our first year!

We’re gearing up for our next march at Brighton Pride on Saturday 3rd August, in a parade that will mark 50 years of music that has defined LGBTQ+ culture, to celebrate 50 years since the Stonewall uprising. You can get all of the details at the link below, and book your place with the password ‘vogue’!
