It’s time for another ‘Ones To Watch’ Wednesday and this time we’d love to share ‘Waste of Time’ by Natty Paynter!
Natty, a singer-songwriter from Cardiff, started posting covers to YouTube where she gandered thousands of views and built up global recognition. As she grew in popularity, she progressed with her original music and started writing from her own and others’ perspectives.
It’s ‘Ones to Watch’ Wednesday, and who better to start with than the awesome Andrea Di Giovanni!
This contemporary pop artist started their journey at 19 when they moved to London and enrolled at the British Institute of Modern Music. They became a huge fan of androgyny-style as a concept and have adapted this to fit with their own definition combining elegance yet edgy, to adapt to their personal vision of ‘Andrea’ as an act.
It’s officially 2020 and after a whirlwind couple of months since our launch in January, Pride in Music is on the lookout for new, up and coming developing artists for part of its ‘Pride in Music Presents…’ programme next year!
2019 has been a huge success for ‘Pride in Music Presents…’, a platform where we provide opportunities for LGBTQ+ artists in the Live space. Earlier this year we partnered with the team at Mighty Hoopla to open their main stage in June with the amazing Ryan Ashley, Student Pride with Leo Kalyan and later in the year provided a slot on the Trafalgar Square Main stage at Pride in London for Swimming Girls.
We have so much more to come next year and would love to hear from all our members & friends on who makes your playlists and on your radar!
Every organisation has targets to increase the visibility and awareness of issues facing Women in Music, BAME and Gender Fluidity throughout the workplace and indeed with our artists, and members, Pride in Music is no different!
PiM has held regular social events throughout the year and we’d love to see a more diverse crowd come together as we look towards our partnership and calendar through 2020.
Nobody loves an extended Diversity Survey but we’ll keep it short and sweet, honest – and we hope to see you as part of our activities in the New Year! Submissions are of course completely anonymous.
Unflopped is the fortnightly podcast that resurrects forgotten pop classics.
Join two pop know-it-alls and one bona fide musical genius as they dig deep into pop music history. In each episode Stuart and Sean choose a flop single that they think deserved to be a hit. Judge Joe offers his expert musical analysis, then, at the end of the show, delivers his ultimate verdict – one of the songs is declared officially Unflopped.
