The Situation in Brunei

As we’re sure you may be aware, a boycott of Brunei-owned luxury hotels is gaining support from the media following the countries decision last Wednesday to to implement what it called Islamic criminal laws including death by stoning for homosexual acts.

“Pride in Music is devastated to hear of the developments in Brunei and urges the artist, management and music community to reconsider travel arrangements in their routing.”

Our partners and friends at The Music Managers Forum (The MMF) added:

“The situation faced by LGBT people in Brunei is abhorrent. The Featured Artists Coalition and Music Managers Forum support the position of Pride in Music, that the wider music community should reconsider their events planning and travel arrangements to avoid those hotels owned by the Sultan.”

The Hotels affected are:
The Dorchester, London / 45 Park Lane, London / Coworth Park, UK / The Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills / Hotel Bel Air, Los Angeles / Le Meurice, Paris / Hotel Plaza Athenee, Paris / Hotel Eden, Rome / Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan
